Did you know that there’s a treatment for this condition?
I am Dr. Jonathas Aquino, Plastic Surgeon, from São Paulo, Brazil.
I am a Full Member of the SBCP (Brazilian Society of Plastic Surgery).
Specialist in Symmastia Correction and I have the greatest number of patients treated for Symmastia in the world.
But what is Symmastia?
Symmastia is the medial confluence of the breast tissue in the presternal region with a lack of adhesion of the skin to the sternum.
Basically, we have two types of Symmastia: the Acquired Symmastia and the Congenital Symmastia.
I can treat both of them.

What is a Acquired Symmastia?
Acquired Symmastia is a complication of the breast implant surgery.
It’s a technical failure oftentimes related to over dissection and it’s way more common in the sub muscular implants.
The treatment is usually a simple surgery. I take out the breast implants, rebuild the anatomy with multiple sutures and then I put the adequate implants in the right position.
What is Congenital Symmastia?
Congenital Symmastia is a bit more complicated.

In this case the patient has fat or breast tissue in the presternal region.
In order to treat the Congenital Symmastia, I created my on technique, The Aquinos’s Techinique.
In the surgery, I take out all the excided tissue and skin from the presternal region, modifying completely the medial part of the breast.
Than I have to equate the breast to the news footprint usually with a mastopexy, with or without breast implants.
And, that ‘s it!
And Remember: Symmastia? You can beat it. Just Call me.
On my YouTube channel you can find a series of videos that have been made about Symmastia.
